Abraham Ephraim House was born about 1780 in Virginia, his father, Jacob House, was 27 and his mother, Barbara Wendell, was 31.
He married Judith Fitzwater on December 1, 1801, in Rockingham, Virginia. They had ten children in 22 years: Catharine Jane, Abraham Jr, Jacob, Jesse, John, Absolom, Elizabeth, James, and William.
In 1827, Abraham sold his Hardy County and and moved to Lewis County, Virginia. They lived on the Buckhannon River at what is now Rangoon, Barbour County, West Virginia. Source: “Lewis County WV, Her People and Places”,2000, p. 117.
He died on January 21, 1854, in Barbour, West Virginia, at the age of 74.
